This richly illustrated open access special issue of Terrain examines how censorship is imagined, practiced and contested in radically different sociocultural settings - from public secrets in Madagascar to to Chinese firewalls, from fascist nostalgia in Italy to forensic investigations in India, and from a secretive anthropological cartoon strip to a 19th century document from the Ottoman court.
